Outlander notes: New assorted Sam Heughan highlights
This begins with the latest fun video featuring Sam over at the Radio Times, which recently did a sit-down interview with him on a wide array of subjects. We’ve already shared a video of him responding to fan questions, and here he answers a number of trivia questions related to the show. He actually does quite well! Sure, “Lallybroch” was not the hardest answer in the world here, but some of the others were at least a tad trickier — especially since we imagine working on Outlander is such that you’re in the moment so much that it’s hard to remember details that are a couple of years in the past. (We know that this is especially true for actors who film 22-to-24-episode series within the span of a single year — every memory just tends to bleed together.)
There are a couple of different things Outlander-related that are of particular relevance in the UK. For starters, there are old episodes airing on More4, and for those of you who are interested in checking out filming for the series, we’re in the home stretch of it now! Hopefully, we’ll have some more insight to share regarding that soon. We try to whenever we have concrete info that isn’t disruptive to production.
Finally, of course new episodes of the series arrive overseas via Amazon, just as they air on Starz in America.
Also, for those of you who want to read some of Sam’s writing who are also in America, There’s Always the Hills is officially out now in America! (See Sam’s tweet below.) Sam wrote the forward to this book by Cameron McNeish, an outdoor expert who has devoted much of his entire life to hiking, walking, and writing about the Scottish outdoors. He also accompanied Sam on the recent “Take a Hike” special for The Adventure Show. You can read more about how to watch that, if you choose, by heading over to the link here.
