Fear the Walking Dead season 4 midseason finale may change everything

Fear the Walking Dead season 4 episode 6

The Fear the Walking Dead season 4 midseason finale is airing on AMC Sunday night and judging from some of the latest teases, signs point to us getting one of the most epic installments that we’ve had a chance to see to date. After all, almost everything with the series is going to change after this, whether it be the show’s two-timeline structure or getting answers to some of the biggest questions floating around at the moment.

In speaking a little more on the subject of this episode to Entertainment Weekly, series star Colman Domingo (Victor Strand) had the following to say:

“It’s phenomenal … It is a groundbreaking episode. A lot has been going on with all of the time jumps and now we’re going to come to a culmination of all the reasons why the story had to be told in that way — why Alicia, Luciana, and I are as vicious as we are. All the reasons will come to the light.”

We’ll admit that at first, we were somewhat hesitant to fully embrace the two-timeline format if for no other reason than that it felt like this was something that would get gimmicky after a while. That hasn’t happened, and instead we think that the mystery as to what happened with certain characters (see Madison) has really invigorated the show in a smart and fascinating way. It’s not something that we’ve gotten from really much of the franchise — we suppose that The Walking Dead did this to a certain extent with Old Man Rick, but that “twist” turned out to be a little different since the Old Man Rick story was just an alternate reality as opposed to something in the actual timeline. Unless Fear the Walking Dead is really tricking us, we’ve led to believe that these stories are meant to be taking place in reality.
