Grace and Frankie season 5: Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin would love Dolly Parton appearance

Grace and Frankie

Given that Grace and Frankie already has two industry icons in the cast in Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, is it possible to go ahead and also add Dolly Parton to the mix? That’s an interesting thing to think about!

For the time being, though, it remains a dream and (alas) nothing more. Speaking (per Deadline) at an Emmys – For Your Consideration panel in Hollywood this weekend, both Fonda and Tomlin said they would be down to have Parton turn up. (Of course, the three actresses all have notable experiences working together in the past, including the iconic 9 to 5.) Tomlin also made some news for proclaiming that Parton may be working on her own movies over at Netflix, which the streaming service would not confirm.

Grace and Frankie has, since its premiere, become one of the streaming service’s landmark hits. Routinely it’s been the recipient of some great reviews and beyond that, we know that it’s the sort of show many different guest stars would love to be a part of. RuPaul, for example, is one such performer who is set to make an appearance during the upcoming fifth season. Why not add a few more? If not season 5, then maybe some other point down the road given that it does not appear as though anyone is going to be wanting to end this series at any point in the near future.

Hopefully, there is going to be some more news over the coming weeks regarding the future of Grace and Frankie — and, to go along with that, we’re exciting to see whether or not either Fonda or Tomlin end up being Emmy nominees this year in a super-competitive field.

What do you want to see on Grace and Frankie season 5, and do you think it would be rather fun to get a Dolly Parton appearance wedged somewhere in there? Be sure to share right now in the comments!
