Justin Bartha leaving The Good Fight, per reports, before season 3
Per TVLine, the actor, who has been a part of the CBS All Access show from the beginning, is poised to depart as a series regular following the events of the recent finale. In some ways it is not too hard to understand why this move could be happening. After all, at the end of the recent finale episode Colin had a chance to move to Washington DC for a new opportunity. Meanwhile, he and Lucca Quinn are not actually romantically intertwined anymore.
Given that the two characters are both parents to a new baby, though, we believe on some level that Bartha will make occasional appearances. The only reason in which that may not happen is in the event that they suddenly turn Colin into a complete heartless monster who doesn’t care about being a father. We don’t really want to live in that world.
Ultimately, losing Bartha is at this point a major blow to the show, largely because of the fact that The Good Fight, like so many other series on the air, thrives a great deal on stability. It benefits this series immensely to be able to keep all important characters on the air for as long as humanly possible.
The third season of The Good Fight has already been renewed, and we anticipate that structurally, the latest batch of episodes is not going to be any different than the ones that aired beforehand. Our expectation is that the series is going to premiere at some point in early 2019, but we will have some additional news on that subject as more stories start to come out.
