America’s Got Talent premiere ratings, reaction videos, and more
The first episode of the new season, which aired on NBC Tuesday night, ended up drawing overall a 2.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and just over 12 million viewers as a whole. That’s reasonably close to how the show performed in its premiere last year, and it’s a reminder that over time AGT has become one of the biggest shows on all of TV. It just has this ability to showcase talent and have fun in a way that very few other shows out there do — it’s a genuine family show that excels at doing precisely what it does. We don’t imagine too much variance as the season goes along, especially when it comes to the heavy focus that we had on variety acts during the first episode. (There really weren’t too many singers who were shown off here.)
For those wondering, World of Dance did a pretty excellent job following the premiere in posting a 1.8 rating. This show was one of the big surprises of this past summer and with these ratings being what they are right now in the ratings, we imagine it sticking around for some time still.
