The Originals season 5 episode 8: A new Chambre de Chasse

The Originals season 5 episode 8 (airing next month on The CW) is entitled “The Kindness of Strangers,” but we feel like beyond this title, there is one question that is clearly going to crop up on the minds of many: How will a Chambre de Chasse be used? It’s something that is going to be at the center of this episode, and something that the Mikaelson family is going to have to work together in order to figure out. Consider this a sign that at least many of these characters are going to be around each other again.

Before diving too much into anything else, let’s start things off by sharing The Originals season 5 episode 8 synopsis below:

CHAMBRE DE CHASSE – As pressing matters rage on in New Orleans, the Mikaelson siblings find themselves forced to set aside their differences and work together to escape a “chambre de chasse.” Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Charles Michael Davis, Riley Voelkel and Danielle Rose Russell also star. Kellie Cyrus directed the episode written by Beau DeMayo & Carina Adly MacKenzie (508). Original airdate 6/6/2018.

These chambres are magically constructed locations that are often crafted with a specific purpose in mind — as for who put them there, we do think that there are many different possibilities here. You could easily proclaim that this was created by someone with nefarious intent … but we’re also somewhat intrigued by the possibility that this was an intentional creation to ensure that the Mikaelsons all got together again. That’s something that we personally believe would be more interesting than almost anything else given that the entire family needs to find some sort of unity. They’ve spent so much of the season to date either at odds or, in the case of Elijah, somewhat oblivious of the surrounding world.
