Ghosted episode 10 return date coming in July; show’s future grim

Just in case you were still holding out hope that Fox’s Ghosted would have a chance to live to see a second season, don’t count on it.

According to TVLine, there is an almost-zero chance that the Adam Scott – Craig Robinson comedy will be back for another season.

We’re actually not sure if there is a more confusing renewal / cancellation decision this year than Ghosted, mostly because when you look at their ratings they’re not too bad by any means. The series averaged a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic across its run of the first nine episodes, which means that it actually performed better than every other live-action comedy that Fox had. While you can attribute some of this to a good lead-in for most of the fall, does it really matter? You still don’t know how the ratings would have performed for the show on a different night and it feels like this cast and crew in particular are getting the shaft for no good reason. First, it’s being forced to air out its run over the summer. Beyond that, it has little to no hope of returning. Maybe a miracle happens if the ratings turn out great this July, but with almost no promotion and with them airing out of season, it’s really hard to expect that.

All of this is made even stranger by the fact that this show is actually produced by 20th Century Fox TV, which means that they really should have been excited and eager to keep the series on the air for as long as humanly possible … or, at the very least, give it a little bit more of a chance than it ultimately received.

We’ll have a little more information on Ghosted when it starts to trickle in, but for now let us know your thoughts on Fox’s handling of it below!
