Roseanne season 11 premiere date, ratings expectations
With tonight’s finale airing in just a couple of hours from the time of this writing, it does feel like now is the perfect time to look at a possible Roseanne season 11 premiere date.
In kicking things off, here’s your customary reminder that of course, the ABC comedy is coming . While its ratings have fallen since its enormous premiere earlier this spring, we are still writing here about a show that is averaging an incredible 3.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That is good enough to make Roseanne the most-popular show on broadcast television this season, even more so than This Is Us and its 3.1 average rating. To date, Roseanne is even averaging more total viewers weekly than NCIS, a show long thought of as the king in this measurement.
When you consider some of those ratings alone, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Roseanne season 11 is going to premiere sooner than season 10 did during the season. ABC has the show on their fall schedule and signs point to it having a longer season than it did for season 10. While we don’t imagine Roseanne ever doing 22-episode seasons again (through most of its heyday it was doing 24-26 a season), we do think that there could be situations coming up in which it does thirteen episodes for many years to come, or at least however long Roseanne Barr wants to keep the show on the air. It feels like the ball is mostly in her court when it comes to that.
Don’t be shocked if there an announcement on a Roseanne season 12 at some point by the end of the year, especially if season 11 gets off to a ratings start that is anywhere near as fast as what we saw for season 10. We do expect a little bit of slippage just because Roseanne can only be a smash hit for so long, but for the time being ABC has got plenty to be excited about.
