The Voice: Britton Buchanan’s original song Where You Come From

Britton Buchanan

In honor of Monday night marking The Voice finale, we are back today to fulfill what has become an semi-annual tradition: Breaking down original songs. In this article, the focus is on Britton Buchanan’s original song “Where You Come From.”

This song is heartfelt, personal, and works perfectly for Britton — which does make some sense, given the fact that he is the only finalist to have a solo writing credit on the song. He’s accompanied on piano and you get a good sense as to who he is through the lyrics.

As for whether or not any of this is going to lead to Britton becoming a major contender to win the whole season, that seems reasonably unlikely when you think about him needing the Save to make it to the final four. Often with The Voice the winners are the people who are out in front from the get-go, and we would say that Brynn is in pole position for most fans — meanwhile, Blake Shelton has two artists in the finale and Blake’s been known to dominate some of the finales in the past.

Regardless of how Britton fares in the competition over the next day or so, he should be proud that he had a chance to record an original song in a professional manner and have it out there for everyone to hear. This could be a nice boost to his career, even if life after The Voice for many contestants is often rather difficult to gauge. The best thing to do is just live in the moment and ensure that you can create music that you’re proud of down the line.
