Cancellation poll results: Lucifer narrowly tops The Brave as show in need of saving

Last week, CarterMatt kicked off the Cancellation Poll in the hopes of gauging one thing from readers: What canceled show do you want to see back on the air the most?

With that in mind, we are now happy to present some of the official results, and it was a close vote! While we saw both Scorpion and The Exorcist put forward a nice effort, this was a narrow showdown between The Brave (canceled by NBC) and Lucifer (canceled by Fox). Both have amazing, passionate fandoms and with that, both deserve a new home.

Ultimately, Lucifer is the winner of the cancellation poll with just over 44% of the total vote, while The Brave finished in second with 43% with almost 14,000 total votes. Congrats ultimately need to go out to both fanbases on their effort!

This poll was ultimately just for fun, but we do think that there is a larger purpose here in that it gave us as a site a chance to see what shows to focus some of our own efforts on. With that in mind, expect more updates on Lucifer and The Brave both as time goes on since clearly, there is a demand for both of these shows to be back on the air at a new home. (There’s already a Lucifer piece up on the site today; one on The Brave will arrive later this afternoon.)

As you continue your campaigns to save these shows, know this: Trying to revive a canceled series is extremely difficult and more often than not, it just doesn’t happen. Yet, there are still occasions in which it can and it is that sliver of hope that you have to hold onto. The best thing that fans of a show can do to support it is to contact various networks, trend on Twitter, and make sure that they are as loud and as positive as possible. There is a sense of sadness this time of year since it means casts and crews potentially losing their jobs, but we also think it unifies fanbases like never before. We just wish at times that this unification led to tangible results.
