Is a 13 Reasons Why season 3 renewal possible at Netflix?
For the time being, let’s make one thing clear: Nothing is altogether certain when it comes to the series’ season 3 future. As a mater of fact, in general it is a surprise that we got a season 2 in the first place. The first season really encompassed the course of the source material and with that in mind, season 2 forged its own path — albeit with slightly polarized results. Reviews for season 2 so far have been mixed; while the series is certainly still timely and powerful, there are still questions as to whether or not it was really needed after everything that happened in season 1.
If a season 3 renewal happens, there’s a good chance that we will learn about it at some point over the next few weeks. Netflix has a habit of announcing some of their orders within a few weeks to a couple of months after their latest show premiere. What makes the situation with 13 Reasons Why this time around slightly unique is this: We’re pretty certain that the season will get enormous viewership after the buzz season 1 generated. The question that follows this is whether or not there would be momentum moving into a season 3. We’re going to know this until the new episodes actually air. After all, there is a pretty distinct difference between what viewers think about a series and what critics do. From the standpoint of viewers, season 2 could end up being even more popular than the batch of episodes that came beforehand.
One way or another, though, rest assured that we are going to have some more news when it comes to the series.
