Gotham season 5 premiere date hopes: When will final chapter begin?
As for when the show’s premiere will air, at the moment there’s nothing 100% confirmed. What we know is that season 5 is not featured on Fox’s fall schedule, and at the moment all signs point towards the show coming back at some point in 2019. There are two different possibilities we foresee for the show.
Winter – Gotham premieres in early January, and serves in some ways as hiatus-filler to a show like an Empire or a 911. This actually is our preference since it can probably deliver the biggest ratings here. Our feeling, at least at the moment, would be that Gotham would run from January until mid-March, which is when it could conclude with some sort of epic two-hour finale. (By the way, this is the final season for Gotham.)
Spring – Another possibility here is that Gotham kicks off at some point in mid-to-late March and runs through May. While this is an acceptable way to close out the series’ run, at the same time this is a really long time to wait for the end of the show.
Either way, what’s also interesting is that The CW is planning to introduce Batwoman and also Gotham later this year during the next big superhero crossover. The interesting irony we get here is that we’re going to be seeing the Arrowverse version of Gotham before we actually end up getting the final season of Gotham.
