black-ish season 5 premiere date hopes for ABC comedy
Let’s start things off here with this: A reminder that there will in fact be a fifth season coming up on the air. The comedy show was picked up recently after some solid ratings and critical reception — basically, the same sort of stuff that we’ve seen the show get many times over. This is one of ABC’s boldest and funniest shows and we’re more than excited to see how the writers move forward and try to continue to surprise.
As revealed in ABC’s fall schedule over at the link here, the series is going to be retaining the same timeslot for the upcoming season in Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. It has performed well there, especially following the premiere of Roseanne, and with that in mind we’re certainly interested in seeing if it can replicate that when it airs again this fall. At that point more of the shine / nostalgia will be off of Roseanne and some of the ratings may not be what they were this spring.
Now that we are getting into season 5 there is another question worth asking: How much longer can the series last? This is a show about family and with that, you could foresee there being many more years to come. Yet, at the same time family shows are reasonably finite given that eventually the children do get a little bit older. We’ve already got Yara Shahidi over on grown-ish and with that, it’s already clear that this show is very much different from what it once was. We do still think that there are a couple of years potentially left in the can at least. So long as the ratings continue to be solid, it may be up to the creative team to determine the future.
