Barry season 2 premiere date hopes for Bill Hader, cast
For starters here, let’s remind you that there is in fact a Barry season 2 coming up in the near future. HBO renewed the Bill Hader series a little bit earlier this year, with one of the biggest reasons for that being the combination of ratings and also critical acclaim. The show is getting around 600,000 live viewers an episode, which is pretty solid for an HBO show in its first season. (Remember here that with HBO, the majority of viewers watch after the fact in some shape or form.)
One thing that is also important for the long-term success of the series is that it’s incredibly consistent — this past episode drew almost 640,000 viewers, which is the second-most-watched episode of the entire season. With the right promotion in the off-season and buzz built-up around it, we do think that the odds are high that there could be a Barry season 3 renewal coming at some point down the road.
Based on the timing of the renewal, our expectation at the moment is that the second season of Barry will probably premiere in the spring. One of the great things about the show doing only eight episodes a season is that it affords the writers and the creative team more time to create something that is all the more perfect. It also may make it easier to get the second season ready next year. While we’d of course love to see longer seasons, one of the great things about Barry doing shorter runs is that it certainly leaves you wanting more.
