Billions season 3 episode 9 preview: What’s coming with Axe, Taylor?

Billions season 3

Billions season 3 episode 9 on Showtime next week is going to do its part to propel the series closer to an endgame that, based on what we’re seeing right now, is going to be incredible. It also could feature another full-on rivalry between Chuck and Taylor. How much are these two going to continue to simmer in what seems like an eventual feud? Taylor has made it clear on multiple occasions that they are not altogether thrilled with Axe’s recent trajectory. With that in mind, we do have to think that these tensions are going to boil over — even if it is not in this particular upcoming episode, it could be at some other point beyond that.

For now, let’s give you a little more evidence of what we’re talking about in the form of a Billions season 3 episode 9 synopsis:

Axe makes a bold play to secure capital from a controversial source. Taylor chafes against Axe’s recent moves. Chuck recruits the allies he needs to move forward with a new plan. Connerty seeks out a career opportunity.

How’s this for good news?

You could imagine that after the show’s recent season 4 renewal, there would be a quieting down in the ratings. After all, with the renewal official you could easily make the argument that there was less of a reason to watch live and boost up those Showtime press releases.

Yet, the audience for Billions just keeps growing — the May 6 installment of the series ended up drawing over 980,000 total viewers. This is the best rating for the show since the season 2 finale — as a matter of fact, there were only two episodes through the second season that actually performed better. All of this bodes well for the long-term future of the series.
