Outlander notes: Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan present at BAFTA TV Awards
The two Outlander stars were both in attendance at the big awards show on Sunday night, and in the video below you can see them each arriving in a rather amusing fashion. Sam in particular greets a fan from afar, which produced a rather wonderful reaction in turn. You get a small glimpse at the end of the video of both Balfe and Heughan on the red carpet — there are many other photos across social media of the two on the show, but we tend not to share many of these images on here for copyright reasons.
Later on during the show itself, Heughan and Balfe presented an award for Basquiat: Rage to Riches, a victory considered by many to be an upset given that Blue Planet II was also nominated. Their appearance together on the show is of course great promotion for Outlander, a series that still needs it given that it airs in a rather untraditional manner across the UK. While older episodes are available for viewing on More4, Amazon is the exclusive partner for new episodes as they come out. It’s certainly a different arrangement than what exists with Starz in America and other countries throughout the rest of the world.
Following this appearance, we know it will be back to work soon for the two! there is still a good bit of filming to be done on Outlander season 4 in the weeks to come; production will stop as we get into the summer and then after that, the wait begins for more information on the future. We know that there are two more seasons coming up, but there isn’t as much clear insofar as the filming timetable for season 5 or season 6 — other than they are each going to run for twelve episodes. Rest assured that once there is a little bit more information available, we will be sure to have it for you here.
