Star renewed for Season 3 at Fox

Fox has renewed the drama series, Star, for Season 3. The series follows three young women that who navigate the music business on their road to success.

One of the reasons this show was renewed was because of its ratings. Now they aren’t the best on television, but they are consistent. When the second season premiered in September in debuted to about 5 million and still brings them back week after week. The last episode premiered to about 4.5 million viewers. This is great because that means people are returning week and week and this is something many shows struggle with. Fox should be pleased with this show. It has found itself trending on social media on a number of occasions, and that helps in turn to boost the ratings more.

Fox should also consider keeping it in its Wednesday night time slot because it seems to be working. As we just said fans keeping coming back so there’s no need to move it. If Fox were to move it, it would be too much of a risk. For Star fans Wednesdays are good night for them and if they were to move to another night, those fans might have other commitments going on and the live ratings for the show would go down. It is a good partner for Empire and it is hard to imagine that changing.

Overall, this is great news because Fox has a silent killer on their hands. Fox has also renewed The Resident and Empire. Next week is the Upfronts and so far Fox has renewed shows that fair well in the ratings so it will be interesting to see what other shows they will renew. This is a very busy time for them, and there are more announcements coming in the weeks ahead.
