Bull season 2 finale: What happened to Marissa?

Geneva Carr

Is Geneva Carr leaving Bull and the character of Marissa Morgan? Over the course of Tuesday’s finale, it was fair to ask that question.

Heck, even going into the episode this was still a question to wonder given what we ended up seeing in the episode prior. Marissa was thinking about her future and with that, there were of course plenty of questions regarding what would come next for her.

Tonight, everything started to escalate through Marissa’s therapy sessions, something that ended with her making an extremely powerful decision in tendering her resignation. She wrote a beautiful letter describing her feelings for Bull and the attachment that she had to the job. She wanted to support him, but at a certain point she also had to figure out if there was more to the world beyond just her job.

So, is that the end of the road for Carr as Marissa? Not exactly. As it turned out, by the end of the episode we ended up seeing her rip up her resignation letter. She couldn’t bring herself to actually say goodbye to TAC and the rest of the team, even if there was a part of her who thought that was the right move, so she will be staying put.

Ultimately, the good news here is that moving forward into season 3, all of these characters appear to be locked in and sticking around for a while. Unless something changes over the summer, the TAC crew is going to be around for a good while still (including Marissa). Judging from what happened at the end of the finale with Bull having a heart attack, we’ve got a pretty good feeling that some of these characters are going to need to be there for him.

Just in case you wanted more confirmation Carr isn’t going anywhere, check out what she told us in our postmortem interview for the finale.
