Chicago PD season 5 finale video: Is Voight confessing?

Hank Voight - Chicago PD season 5 finale

The Chicago PD season 5 finale is coming to NBC on Wednesday night and judging from the sneak peek below, things are escalating somehow even beyond what we’ve seen so far.

Basically, here is the position that Hank Voight finds himself in entering this episode — Alvin Olinsky is sitting behind bars for a crime that he did not commit and it’s starting to look like he is running out of options. The only reason that he was willing to let Olinsky sit behind bars for as long as he did was simply because he thought there was going to be a way to get him out and make the entire process of this trial easier. That is starting to come apart at the seams. All of a sudden Voight now has little recourse and little hope that his longtime colleague is going to be able to get out of prison. It’s with that in mind that he seems open to making a confession.

As you can see in this video (via SpoilerTV), Hank makes what we personally think is a rather clear offer — if Woods agrees to drop the charges against Olinsky, he will confess. It’s as simple as that. He doesn’t want to see Al struggle anymore and this is the one way in which to do that.

Yet, there is still one other issue that is playing out in this preview that is shown alongside Voight’s discussion: Olinsky being rushed to get medical attention after being stabbed in prison. Could this change something? It’s absolutely worth considering entering the episode since it raises the stakes yet again; also, Voight’s priorities could change. For him, the story of this episode could be a little less about confessing in the moment and, in turn, a little bit more about checking in to ensure that his friend is actually okay. The last thing that he would ever want is to not be there for him if his life is on the line.
