Arrested Development season 5 premiere date, trailer revealed at Netflix
Let’s kick things off, though, with the former. After years of waiting (technically, though, only days since the streaming service released some re-cut footage of the fourth season), season 5 is going to start streaming on May 29. That’s only a mere matter of 22 days from today! That’s a good thing given that after watching this trailer below, we are probably more excited for more episodes than ever before.
We also don’t think it is any coincidence that the start of this trailer really hypes up the fact that the Bluth family is “finally back together.” This is probably a not-so-veiled reference to one of the biggest critiques associated with season 4 in that the stories weren’t linked all that much. Because the scheduled worked out much better this time, you are going to get a chance to see more of the main characters around each other and with that, be sure to anticipate plenty of hijinks. This trailer features Lindsay Booth running for office, at least one character with a surprising new hairdo, and also (once again) a very strange notion that Michael Bluth is somehow a hero to many of these people even though he often does have a tendency to screw a lot of things up.
Suffice it to say, we’re excited for this. Arrested Development is one of our favorite TV series of the past several years just in terms of consistent laughter and finding unique ways to tell a story. The fact that this A-list cast including Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Will Arnett, and many more continues to come together to make more episodes really goes a long way towards explaining what makes this show so special.
