Law & Order: SVU season 19 finale filming; details still under wraps
If you are wondering why it is we haven’t heard too much information as of yet on the Law & Order: SVU season 19 finale, there is a pretty clear reason for it: Filming is still happening!
Over the past few days, production for the NBC series continued to go strong in New York City (where else?) preparing for what is hopefully going to be a fantastic end of the season coming on Wednesday, May 23. There are two episodes that are going to be airing back to back on the night, and the titles make it very clear that the two episodes are meant to be linked to one another: “Remember Me” and “Remember Me Too.” That’s somewhat chilling, but it’s hard to know the full extent of it without seeing the episode.
Is it that unheard of that a series could still be filming the finale so close to it airing? Not necessarily, as 911 earlier this year actually was under an even tighter filming crunch. It’s just something that due to scheduling happens here and there, and what transpires as a result of it often is that the post-production team has to work into overdrive in order to ensure that the episode is constructed in enough time. They’ll be able to pull it out here but there could be some elements that are not pieced together until the very last minute.
One thing is clear in our mind: We’re pulling for a season 20 renewal by the time that SVU actually airs this two-part finale. It feels like a sure thing so long as the cast and crew want to keep going, so fingers crossed that announcement comes and it is every bit as glorious as we would want it to be.
