The Originals season 5 episode 3 preview: The hunt for Hayley

What lies ahead on The Originals season 5 episode 3? Chaos is a big part of the equation, but beyond that, the same goes for hopefully some more answers on Hayley. Never have we been so worried about the answer to “what’s in the box?” than we are courtesy of what is in the promo at the bottom of this article. There’s a major sense of fear that we have in our stomach for Phoebe Tonkin’s character, especially given the fact that Phoebe Tonkin is not a series regular this season. Beyond that, we know that this is a brutal show that often does brutal things to characters that we love. We’re very worried that this search for Hayley is not going to end up giving us some of the answers that we wish that it would.

SEARCH FOR HAYLEY — Frustrated by the lack of progress made in the search for Hayley, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) turns up the heat by taking hostages from each of the three New Orleans supernatural factions. Freya (Riley Voelkel) goes to Mystic Falls to check on Hope (Danielle Rose Russell), who has been sent back to the Salvatore School. Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) seeks guidance from Ivy (guest star Shiva Kalaiselvan) after learning that Klaus’ erratic behavior is escalating. Michael Grossman directed the episode written by Beau DeMayo & Kyle Arrington (#504). Original airdate 5/9/2018.

As we get closer to the end of this season, there are going to be many more surprises, and this Hayley search could just be the tip of the iceberg. We just wish we knew a little bit more information on the future of Elijah after what we saw tonight. We have seen happiness from this character in ways that we have not seen in some time, and on one level that is exciting. However, at the same time it also does make us very much nervous as to what happens when he collides with Klaus and the rest of his family again.
