The Good Doctor season 1 streaming now on Hulu thanks to new deal
According to a new report coming in right now via Deadline, Hulu has now officially closed a deal to become the home for all seasons, present and future, of the ABC drama series starring Freddie Highmore. The entire first season is now available, and future seasons of course will be added in the future.
While we recognize at this point that streaming services have such robust lineups of original programming that they are not necessarily reliant on network hits, these do serve as excellent ways to build subscriber bases. For example, the standard ABC viewer may not be altogether familiar with The Handmaid’s Tale or any of the other excellent original series that the streaming service produces. Getting a show like The Good Doctor on the service is a great way in which to get viewers’ foots in the door so that they can check out the remainder of Hulu’s programming and remain loyalty customers for some time.
The Good Doctor stars Freddie Highmore as Dr. Shaun Murphy, a brilliant young doctor with autism who is working to find himself in the midst of helping others at the St. Bonaventure Hospital. Every week you see a different medical challenge combined with some fascinating personal stories and by the end of them, we like to think that you have learned a little bit about Shaun’s struggle just as much as he has learned a little bit more about him trying to become a better person and a better doctor. This job is, after all, about so much more than just undergoing surgery and treating patients with prescription drugs.
