First The Bachelorette promo coming during Dancing with the Stars premiere
As the title for this story, and the tweet below via ABC’s Robert Mills, effectively gives away, this first promo is coming during the premiere for Dancing with the Stars season 26 tonight. That obviously makes sense for a number of different reasons, with the most notable one being that it allows for a little bit more cross-promotion. There are going to be a lot of people watching the ballroom show tonight and this is just further incentive to convince a number of viewers out there to check it out in hopes of seeing some sort of a tease.
The appeal of Becca as The Bachelorette is clear from a number of different levels, with the most important one being the hype that was built up at the end of this past season of The Bachelor. While the end of Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s season was in many ways a debacle, one of the good things that did come out of it in the end was that it allowed for an opportunity to really sell Becca as the idea star for this show. She is someone who got her heart torn up and stomped on in front of most of America and now, she has a chance to move forward and really have a wonderful love story of her own. They’ve always followed this formula to a certain extent for some other past seasons of the franchise, but it’s clearly a little bit different this season when you think about the story of Becca as a lead and what happened to her with Arie.
The new season of The Bachelorette kicks off on ABC come Monday, May 28.
