NCIS season 15 episode 22 photo: First look at an Abby farewell
In this image above, you can see Pauley Perrette’s character in an embrace with who seems to be Bishop (Emily Wickersham). This is likely one of many goodbyes that she is going to have during this episode, but it is the only one that CBS has released at this time. The main thing to remember here is that it shouldn’t be lost on anyone the sort of love that is out there for this character — not just by the fans, but by other members of the fictional team. If someone like Abby was leaving the NCIS team, of course there would be some emotional moments between her and some other people! We’re hoping for something sweet with almost everyone — we also think that Abby’s facial expression speaks for itself. This is emotional for her. She’s been a part of this world for so long and Abby is an integral part of Perrette’s life. Her leaving is easily the biggest thing to happen with the show since the departure of Michael Weatherly in season 13.
Alas, there is still not too much information regarding how the character is leaving — if there is one reason to be hopeful, though, it’s simply this: CBS is promoting Abby’s exit like it is a big deal, and we don’t think that they are anywhere near cruel enough to promote this as a big, emotional goodbye if they were killing the character off. We’re of the belief that the writers are setting something up here so that there will be a way to imagine that Abby is off somewhere else in the world — with that, we’re also hoping that there is a way in which we could see the character again in the future. A goodbye doesn’t have to be forever, and there are some milestones and other key episodes that would be great for an Abby reprisal.
