Supergirl season 3 episode 18 spoilers: Reign hunts down Ruby

Supergirl season 3 episode 18

Judging from some early information that we’ve got right now, signs point towards Supergirl season 3 episode 18 being an important, intense hour of television. Reign is going to be at the center of this hour, with the same being said for Samantha Arias’ daughter Ruby.

Before we do anything else, let’s go ahead and share the official synopsis for this hour below:

REIGN SETS HER SIGHTS ON RUBY – When Reign (Odette Annable) starts hunting Ruby (guest star Emma Tremblay), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Alex (Chyler Leigh) work together to keep her safe. Supergirl and J’onn (David Harewood) look to Sam’s mother (guest star Betty Buckley) for advice on how to stop Reign and come away with some shocking news. Antonio Negret directed the episode with story by Robert Rovner and teleplay by Lindsay Gelfand & Allison Weintraub (#318). Original airdate 5/14/2018.

One of the things that interests us about this story right away is simply this: Why? Why would Reign make the move to go after Ruby at this very moment? On paper, it doesn’t seem like she has any powers, though we are rather curious as to what being the kid of a Worldkiller really means. What terrifies us the most about this story is mostly that Reign may have realized that she is the one thing that is allowing Sam’s humanity to come out — removing her from the equation at the moment seems like a way for her to get a little bit closer to achieving some of her desired goals. (Nonetheless, we do still think that this is an absolutely devastating notion that we hope doesn’t happen — no mother’s evil alter ego should murder their child!)
