Billions season 3 episode 6 preview: Axe’s search; protecting Wendy

Billions season 3

Looking ahead towards Billions season 3 episode 6 on Showtime in one week’s time, there are going to be some very high stakes. To go along with that, there are also going to be some key decisions. How far will Chuck Rhoades and Bobby Axelrod go in order to protect themselves, and those who are close to them?

One of the most interesting focal points for these two remains the character of Wendy, much as it has always been. The two have very complicated personal and professional relationships with her; they understand her value and are often willing to go the extra mile to secure her favor. We’ll see what happens this time around, though, since protecting her could come at a cost. The same for however far Axe is going to go in order to also help himself. He’s going to see both the positives and negatives of some of his efforts over this episode.

For a little more news when it comes to what’s ahead, check out the Billions season 3 episode 6 synopsis below:

Axe tracks down a critical piece of evidence that could destroy him. Both Axe and Chuck reckon with just how far they’re willing to go to protect Wendy. The Ice Juice case comes to a head when a judge gives Connerty a difficult deadline.

A slide in the ratings

If there is a little bit of bad news to report today, it comes via the show’s most-recent numbers and a somewhat-surprising downturn last week. Season 3 episode 5 drew in total just over 720,000 viewers — its lowest total the season. This marks, in turn, the lowest-rated episode of the show since the second episode of season 2, which aired in the heart of awards season. There was the ACM Awards last week and it’s certainly possible that this played a part in the decline — though you wouldn’t necessarily expect a direct correlation between the performance of a show like this and a country-music awards show.
