NCIS season 15 episode 20 video: Is Bishop dating her archenemy?

NCIS season 15 episode 20 is airing on CBS Tuesday night, and there is a part of this story that makes it more significant than just about any other. We are talking here about the 350th installment of the entire series! This marks a chance to commemorate the entire journey that we’ve been on so far with some of these characters, while also still getting another great case in the process.

Based on the sneak peek CarterMatt has for you below, you wouldn’t actually know that this episode is actually different from any others at all. After all, we’ve got a little bit of playful banter before Gibbs comes in with a proclamation that everyone should “grab their gear” and prepare for what’s coming up next.

What is a little bit surprising is precisely what some of this “playful banter” is — a discussion on the subject of what happened with Bishop the night before, when it turns out that she had dinner and drinks with none other than Thomas Buckner. Remember him? He’s the former high-school bully of Bishop’s who she saw again earlier this season. As it turns out, Buckner has changed a good bit since that time and he’s not exactly the same person she remembers. He’s apparently changed so much, in fact, that she actually wants to spend time with him.

While Bishop didn’t think of it as a date that night, apparently accordingly to everyone else on the team (including Gibbs!) they all think it was a date. We’re a little bit surprised that someone like Bishop didn’t pick on this before now, but personally we are hoping that this means that for her it wasn’t a date so she just didn’t see it that way. Beyond that, though, we’re also slightly confused as to why in the world she would want to do something like this in the first place when you consider the very-clear past that the two have. There’s a difference between being able to forgive someone and then actually wanting to go out with them – and even more so wanting to become romantically involved with someone that made you life hell. Yes, people can change and forgiveness is an important part of the healing process, but this is a bit of a stretch for us.
