Billions season 3 episode 5 preview: Axe, Chuck’s tug-of-war game

There are many different things to be excited about when it comes to Billions season 3 episode 5 over on Showtime, but we do think that many of them begin with the title: “Flaw in the Death Star.” We are going to see within this episode more suggestions that Axe Capital is more vulnerable than ever, mostly because you’ve got many powerful people who, in turn, have a wide array of opinions. Anytime in which this happens, you have to know that there is going to be some sort of chaos as a result.

Below, what the Billions season 3 episode 5 synopsis does a pretty great job at is giving you more of a sense regarding just what is coming in terms of the base story:

Chuck trades favors with a co-conspirator. Axe and Chuck fight for the loyalty of the same witness. Connerty gets closer to the truth. Axe sends Taylor to Silicon Valley to explore new business opportunities. Dollar Bill plans a big short position on a pharmaceutical company stock, but not everyone at Axe Cap approves.

What Axe seems to be doing with Taylor is working to cover more of his bases. He knows that he constantly needs to venture outwards with new ideas and concepts in order to ensure that there is success amidst chaos … and there is going to be PLENTY of chaos. That much is known for sure. Trying to figure out new ventures while also wrestling with Chuck is going to give him a lot to take on at the same time.

The latest ratings

For those who do want to continue to track the latest performance of Billions, there are a number of different things that you should know. First, this past new episode of the series generated in total almost 850,000 viewers. That is a slight increase from the week before, and this in turn means that the show is almost certainly going to be coming back for a season 4. Even if the ratings were lower, we still don’t think that the series would be facing any imminent danger. Billions remains a critical favorite for Showtime and there is virtually zero incentive for them to want to take it off the schedule anytime soon.
