Once Upon a Time season 7 episode 18 preview: ‘The Guardian’

Almost from the jump, it’s pretty darn clear that Once Upon a Time season 7 episode 18 is going to be a significant one for the series. The title makes that clear: “The Guardian.” We’ve already learned about Anastasia’s connections to the title, but what else is there?

Odds are, probably quite a bit when you consider that we’re getting an episode with this title so late into the series’ run. More often than not, episodes are given these sort of titles for a specific reason. Our feeling, at least in this instance, is that there is something more beyond this title than first meets the eye. There is more to this story and more than likely more to be revealed that is going to span the course of this hour.

Also, whatever it is will tie very much into the endgame of the series, which is going to feature a combining of the world of the first part of this season and what is coming up down the road. The home stretch will feature the return of many beloved favorites and also Storybrooke in itself, which we do consider very much to be a beloved favorite in its own right. It’s going to be exciting, but also understandably emotional when you consider the end of the era. This show has, in so many ways, brought us Guardians in many forms. Whether it be family, faith, or finding a way to reshape the future, every person from Emma to Regina to Show to Henry has taken on this role during the series’ run.

Now, it simply feels like to start to see it all wind down.
