Scandal season 7 episode 18 (series finale): An ending awaits ‘Over a Cliff’
We hope that you’re ready for Scandal season 7 episode 18 — though at the same time, we’re not sure that we are ever going to be ready for it. This, after all, does mark the big series finale for the ABC series. This is a chance to say goodbye to some of our favorite characters while also seeing if there’s much of a happy ending at the end of this.
While the network is not exactly revealing a whole flood of details regarding this episode in advance, we should start things off here by saying that the title doesn’t necessarily inspire just a whole lot of confidence. We’re speaking here about an installment entitled “Over a Cliff,” which to us implies someone going beyond the point of no return. With everything that has been happening as of late with some of these characters, there are many different possibilities in regards to who could be traveling over a cliff once and for all.
We do think that Shonda Rhimes does have a pretty good bit of insight at the moment just in terms of what is at stake. While Scandal is not necessarily the enormous hit that it once was in terms of total viewers and adults 18-49, it is still a cultural institution. It helped to redefine what it meant to live tweet and also how to build a community around the show. It’s been fun, it’s been crazy, and above all else, it’s been thoroughly dramatic and exciting. We’re absolutely stoked to see what is going to happen in this finale to pay tribute to the show and to these characters.
Hopefully, Scandal does offer up some sort of legacy in this finale that lives on in the years to come — if nothing else, there’s still some hope to see some of these characters again on How to Get Away with Murder. They are in the same universe, after all!
