Deception season 1 episode 6 preview: Someone from Cameron’s past will show up again

ABC has released the synopsis and promo for Deception episode 6 (which CarterMatt has for you below) and its personal for Cameron. Someone from Cameron’s past is going to show up in his life again, but not for reasons you’d expect. Check it out:

“When Cameron’s ex-girlfriend is robbed during Fashion Week, he insists on helping Kay with the investigation and the team finds themselves in the middle of a high-speed, dangerous chase.”

The promo below doesn’t give much away in regards to Cameron reuniting with his ex, however, we are given a hint at the crime he and the FBI will have to solve. Cameron shows up to the prison and shows Johnny a coded symbols table and tell him it could be the key to getting him out of jail. Right out we know this case will connect in some way to Johnny’s set up and that’s become the true mystery this first season. What the writers have done well is how they spread out the clues to solving Johnny’s set up. With almost every episode, we are given a hint (a very small hint), but something in order to keep us guessing. It’s a smart move considering most fans return to a show week after week in hopes of getting these small hidden clues.

Next, we see that the crime will involve a flying lamp and a shadow figure. Obviously more illusions are going to be happening and that means Cameron’s deception team will be building more of their fantastic sets for Cameron’s illusions. From here we see the man who we suppose is the “shadow figure” with a gun and starts shooting. We see Agent Kay in FBI action tracking down a suspect and then we move to a crisis moment when a woman disappears into thin air. This is followed by a bunch of small screen grabs featuring moments from the episode that give us hope that everything will be okay in the end.

We like the synopsis, but none of what the synopsis talked about is in the promo. We get that not everything can be revealed in a promo, but you at least want to give the audience a taste at what is ahead. This promo seemed more like a general promotions commercial for the show, not a promo for a specific episode.
