Legends of Tomorrow season 4 premiere date hopes: When could it be back?

Legends of Tomorrow

Following tonight’s finale on The CW, what should the Legends of Tomorrow season 4 premiere date be? Within this CarterMatt article, we’re going to do our best to figure that out!

Let’s start by stating what should be obvious at this point: If we had it our way, it’s pretty clear that the next Legends of Tomorrow season would premiere tomorrow and there was no waiting at all. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. Unlike the characters they play, there’s no way for the actors to travel through time and figure out ways to have more episodes together in the blink of an eye.

For now, let’s just rejoice that we even have a season 4 renewal to begin with! When you think about this show and its ragtag lineup of lesser-known superheroes, we should be rather happy that we’ve even got another season in the first place. Legends of Tomorrow has long been the underdog of the Arrowverse — it got off to a pretty rough start in season 1, but since that time it has only gotten better and better. Season 3 has been a hysterical, creative treat to watch, and just about every move, whether it be the revival of Damien Darhk to the addition of such characters as Zari and Wally West, has completely paid off for showrunners Phil Klemmer and Marc Guggenheim. The best thing about it is probably just that there are consistently very few expectations. There’s less of a burden from the comic books and everyone can just go out and have a good time.

At the moment, there is no Legends of Tomorrow premiere date, and we don’t foresee one is going to be announced until the summer. It’s probably a safe bet to assume that the series will be on the air once more in October, but there are many questions when it comes to the timeslot. The Caity Lotz series is somewhat nomadic in that it never really has a timeslot to call its own. We do wonder if it’s a candidate to be moved over to The CW’s new night on Sundays, or if we’re going to have a situation where it’s paired up with The Flash during the fall while Black Lightning takes over that spot at midseason. After all, why not utilize a model that the network used for this season? The only problem there is that it pushes Supergirl back a little bit so that its finale airs outside of May sweeps.

As for the episode count, we actually hope that it sticks at around 18. Sometimes less can be more, and one of the reasons why Legends of Tomorrow works is because there are less episodes.
