Who died on The Walking Dead season 8 episode 15?

Is Steven Ogg leaving The Walking Dead after season 8 episode 15? There were certainly many different moments where it started to seem that way.

Ultimately, though, it seems as though it’s curtains for the character of Simon thanks to the conclusion of tonight’s episode, which featured him in the midst of an epic choke-out battle with Negan. Dwight ended up selling him out for some of his moves against him and after that, it was pretty clear that things were going to go south for him. We still wondered as to whether or not Negan would go through with fighting him, but it happened and the results truly turned out to be all sorts of ugly.

What we’re losing with Simon is one of the most-interesting characters out there within the Walking Dead universe, someone who has a real knack for causing some chaos and acting with violence when it suits them. This was a tremendous role for Ogg, who we loved before this show and we hope goes on to do some other great things after the fact. He had to know from the moment that he first joined The Walking Dead that he was going to eventually meet a pretty grisly end, just because of the fact that this is what happens on this show — especially for adversaries.

This is the part of the article where it’s worth admitting that we seriously thought we were going to be losing Dwight at some point over the course of this episode, as well, mostly because of what was found out about him. We know that this character lasts a lot longer in the comics, but based alone on what happened with Carl this isn’t exactly the sort of thing that we can necessarily count on anymore. (Who else got their heart torn out again with the Chandler Riggs narration in this episode?)

Farewell, Steven Ogg — now, let’s prepare to say goodbye to others in the finale since that’s just what happens. (Technically, Ogg may have one more episode as a walker.)
