Legends of Tomorrow season 3 finale spoilers: A character will leave
In some ways, you can argue that this move is expected. With Matt Ryan joining the show as a series regular next season and with Jes Macallan being promoted, it makes sense that someone else would have to be cut. Plus, there is a very revolving-door quality to this show in the sense that we’ve already seen Franz Drameh depart the series to go along with Victor Garber.
Show boss Phil Klemmer confirmed to TVLine that there will be a departure from the Waverider in the finale; with that in mind, CarterMatt is going to try to pinpoint just who that could be.
Amaya Jiwe – This is probably the most likely candidate just because so much of her story is tied to the totems and with the showdown with Mallus coming, it’s possible that her time could be wrapped up and she could depart back into her era of history.
Nate Heywood – Could he leave alongside Amaya and finish his life in her era? We imagine that it’s possible, though in theory it would really screw up the timeline. It’s hard to imagine him leaving on his own without him being tied to her in some way.
Wally West – He only recently came on board the team, but it does feel like there’s a habit with this character in which he’s a wayward soul. We don’t think it’s going to happen, but it’s possible in theory.
Mick Rory – Dominic Purcell could have another season of Prison Break coming up and while he was able to balance the two before, who knows if he could do that again? The one argument for the character to stay is that we’re not sure that there’s any life for him outside of the Waverider. What is Rory going to do in the real world?
Out of the other characters, Sara Lance and Ray Palmer seem too woven into the fabric of Legends of Tomorrow to depart right now; meanwhile, it’s hard to really imagine saying goodbye to Zari given her uniqueness and popularity to this season.
