Blue Bloods season 8 episode 20 spoilers: Will Jamie take sergeant’s test?

Blue Bloods season 8

Is Blue Bloods season 8 episode 20 going to push Jamie towards a path to his eventual promotion? When it comes to looking at the CBS series in a big-picture sense, this is a question that’s been pondered over rather frequently. Jamie has long enjoyed his spot being a uniform cop on the streets, and it feels like that desire has really fueled him more so than anything else holding him back in terms of what he wants for his career.

Ultimately, the end of the season could feature him starting to go in a different direction, thanks in part to the encouragement of his father Frank. It is rather interesting how influencing Jamie seems to be one of the real moves de jour on Blue Bloods as of late, given that on Friday night’s new episode Erin encouraged Jamie to think about some of his feelings for Eddie. That got us closer than we’ve been in some time to a romantic storyline for Jamie and Eddie … though that’s complicated slightly by the fact that Eddie is currently in another relationship.

For more on the story of Jamie and the sergeant’s test, be sure to check out the Blue Bloods season 8 episode 20 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:

“Your Six” – When Danny resorts to asking his incarcerated archenemy, Victor Lugo (Nick Cordero), for help locating a dangerous criminal who escaped from prison, Lugo refuses to assist unless he’s allowed to accompany them on the pursuit. Also, Frank subtly tries to convince Jamie to take the sergeant’s test, and Erin’s plan to go on a date with her ex-husband causes friction between her and Anthony, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, April 27 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

We’re certainly all about the idea of getting to see more of Jamie thinking about his future, just as we’re also intrigued about whatever is going on between Erin and Anthony over Jack. Does Anthony have feelings for her, or is he just being protective knowing some of the history between her and Jack? Both of these ultimately do feel like definite possibilities in their own right.

All in all, we’re mostly just excited about the idea of Blue Bloods actually working near the end of this season to move some stories forward. Hopefully there will be a season 9, but we like the idea that if there is, it’s going to feel fresh.
