Siren episode 3 ratings fall, but by how much?
With almost every show out there, what tends to happen is that there is a ton of enthusiasm around a show and there are many people interested in watching the first episode or two live. After that point, though, there are many viewers who simply decide that they didn’t enjoy the show enough to keep watching; or, another possibility is that they want to be able to watch it later on their DVR. Nobody in 2018 likes to sit around and watch commercials — this is an era where so many people are all about instant gratification and checking out new episodes of things as quickly as humanly possible.
So how did Siren episode 3 ultimately fare? Think in terms of a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic to go along with just over 620,000 total viewers. If you want to compare some of these figures to the week before, this is a decrease of more than 20% in the demo and, to go along with that, a decrease of more than 25% in viewers from the premiere.
Is that bad news when it comes to the future of the series? We don’t necessarily think so for many different reasons. For one, this is only episode 3, and Siren had one of the best premiere ratings for a new series on Freeform in some time. Basically, so long as it doesn’t drop severely over the next few weeks it feels like the show is close to a sure thing to getting a second season. There’s very little reason for Freeform to want to move away from something that got off to such a great start — plus, as we mentioned earlier, Freeform isn’t even just looking at live ratings. There are so many determining factors into whether or not a series gets picked up and, in the end, they all need to be looked at in some shape or form.
