Blue Bloods season 8 episode 19 preview: Danny and Baez’s race against time

Blue Bloods season 8

Blue Bloods season 8 episode 19 is going to be coming up on CBS come Friday, April 13 and based on some of the earliest information we have on it, signs point to it being a pretty big hour of TV. Many of the major characters (including Jamie and Eddie) seem to have big stories over the course of the hour and beyond that, there’s going to be one of the most intense arcs that we’ve seen in some time for Danny and Baez. They have a very limited amount of time to find someone in need, and the biggest problem is that they may be starting from square one without too much insight as to how things are actually kicking off.

The Blue Bloods season 8 episode 19 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below offers some more information as to what is coming up:

“Risk Management” – Danny and Baez race to find a missing girl who will die within 72 hours without her heart medication. Also, Jamie and Eddie are on the wrong side of an investigation after engaging in a car chase, Frank, Garrett and Gormley investigate the rise in the settlement of lawsuits against cops, and Sean wins an essay contest and receives a medal from former New York City Mayor David Dinkins, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, April 13 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

One of the biggest things that we wonder when it comes to Jamie and Eddie at this point is simply this: Are they ever going to have a chance to just breathe in their jobs? It seems like they’re in an almost-constant state of finding themselves in trouble out in the field. Maybe a certain percentage of that does just come with the territory of being cops.

Meanwhile, with the David Dinkins appearance what’s really cool is mostly just that Blue Bloods is both paying attention and paying homage to some of the people who have made New York City a wonderful place. Bringing out this character now helps to cultivate this show as even more authentic than ever, and we like to think that this is especially important when you’ve got a series that is as gritty as this one often is.

One final thing worth noting here from a programming perspective is simply that we’re firmly in the home stretch of the season. There are 22 episodes of Blue Bloods season 8; with that in mind, it’s best to start getting excited/nervous for whatever the finale is going to end up bringing. It could ultimately be a wide array of different exciting things — just as long as it’s not as devastating as the premiere, we’ll be happy.
