Criminal Minds season 13 episode 20 preview: Garcia’s stepbrother plays a part

Criminal Minds - Penelope Garcia

When Criminal Minds season 13 episode 20 airs on CBS in one week’s time, be prepared for an episode entitled “All You Can Eat” that is, alas, probably not going to be about a buffet. (With that being said, we’ve got a feeling that some of the BAU could really clean house on a Golden Corral after a long day’s worth of work!) This episode is going to bring the team over to the Centers for Disease Control, mostly to take on a case that seems to be linked to bioterrorism. All of a sudden, we’re looking at an episode that has the vibe of The Walking Dead and that’s absolutely creepy — to put it mildly.

For a little more information on the case itself, just take a look at the attached synopsis:

“All You Can Eat” – The Centers for Disease Control calls on the BAU when they suspect bioterrorism is behind a series of mysterious deaths in Virginia. Also, Garcia visits her stepbrother, Carlos (Sebastian Sozzi), to take care of a difficult family issue, on CRIMINAL MINDS, Wednesday, April 11 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Criminal Minds seems to be making a few of its decisions late in season 13 with personal stories in mind. For one example of that, look at tonight’s story featuring Matt Simmons … or also the story coming up next week with Garcia. This is a chance to actually see Kirsten Vangsness really shine with something a little more personal and different than anything that we’ve had a chance to see this season. This is her second big showcase as of late that has featured some iteration of a change for her. Remember earlier this season when there

Remember that following this episode, we’re going to be gearing up for the big two-hour finale for Criminal Minds that will hopefully serve a couple of different purposes. For starters, it’s going to tie up everything that we’ve had a chance to see so far this season. Beyond that, fingers crossed that there is also an excellent cliffhanger at the very end of this that sets up a season 14. While it may not be officially confirmed as of yet, there are multiple signs at the moment suggesting that production is moving forward as though there will be more of the series. That’s a cause for serious optimism. The ratings are still decent for the timeslot — they may not be what they once were, but that doesn’t necessary mean that Criminal Minds is dead. It just has a different threshold than back when it was one of the biggest mega-hits on the air.

In the video below, we also do our part to discuss more what could be coming in terms of a season 14 renewal. If you like it — and hopefully you do — subscribe for more!
