The Resident season 1: Should Nic and Conrad get together by finale?
On paper, there are many reasons to want to root for the two of them! For starters, they have a relationship and a familiar that exists already. They’ve been together before, and even though that relationship didn’t work out it’s still pretty clear that they have feelings for each other. The ring that Conrad gave her is one piece of evidence of that. Another is just how intent he is to try and help and protect her even on the occasions in which she does not ask for any help. Remember when she was harassed by the baseball player? He still took it upon himself to go in there and tear the guy a new one.
You’re also getting a chance to see them help each other now, as Conrad is doing what he can in order to help Nic after he’s learned about some of the work she has been doing to prove that Dr. Lane Hunter is up to no good. The devotion that he shows here is really the sort of devotion that typically one only shows to a person they are involved with romantically.
As for what they could give to each other beyond just work, balance is pretty high up on the list. These two need more of a support system and they can clearly be that for each other. They’re comfortable enough to fight when a disagreement comes up, and also still know that they can come together on the other side of it. There are also many interesting stories that could stem from them being together, with one of the most interesting being whatever would happen at the hospital in the event the two were together. Would they face further scrutiny or trouble because they were a couple? Would it cause more pressure?
