Scream season 3 premiere date could be announced soon
Speaking in a new interview with Forbes, cast member Keke Palmer made it clear that the third season could premiere at some point potentially this spring. That could be great, but we’d also be happy in the event that the third season premiered at some point in the summer. Given that this season is only six episodes, we do think it could work well as a week-long summer event that just gives the network a chance to tell a continuous story that gets viewers hooked.
So what was the holdup in the new season coming to the air in the first place? The website notes that some of that may have to do with the series’ once-affiliation with The Weinstein Company. We don’t blame them whatsoever for wanting to get away from that shadow as quickly as humanly possible. Tyler Posey, Tyga, CJ Wallace, Giorgia Whigham, RJ Cyler, and more are involved in the latest season of Scream, which is apparently going to be completely separate from the first two seasons.

Does the long delay make it even more difficult for the series to stick around for a fourth season? Maybe, but we think that what matters here more than anything else is the quality of the story. If season 3 delivers the right amount of scares and plenty of drama, there is a pretty good chance that it will come back on the air in the future. The ratings for season 2 were already down by a steady margin over season 1, really to the point where we wondered whether or not the show would be renewed in the first place. In that way, the upcoming episodes are more or less a gift.
