The Flash season 4 episode 18 spoilers: The quest to defeat DeVoe turns desperate

When The Flash season 4 episode 18 airs on The CW come Tuesday, April 17, you are going to see some of the characters act a little more desperately than they would otherwise — and with good reason. They know that DeVoe is getting increasingly close to executing his endgame (whatever that may be), and they want to do what they can to stop that from happening. We’ve already seen Harry make a big move with the thinking cap in his hopes of making that happen. Following that, it’s certainly possible that we could see Ralph Dibny do something similar — at least in terms of some of the danger he is willing to take on to make that happen

RALPH CONSIDERS CROSSING A LINE TO DEFEAT THE THINKER — When Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash find a way to enter The Thinker’s lair, Ralph (guest star Hartley Sawyer) considers crossing a dangerous line to defeat DeVoe. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) is concerned by Harry’s (Tom Cavanagh) recent behavior. Hanelle Culpepper directed the episode written by Jonathan Butler & Gabriel Garza (#418).

It’s nice to see that someone is checking on Harry here given that clearly, he’s going to need that. It’s probably the only way in which he is going to be kept from becoming a Big Bad in his own right — he could be gaining superior intelligence thanks to the new thinking-cap innovation, but if there’s one thing that we’ve come to learn with this show, it’s simply that having powers often changes everything. With Barry, his life is often in danger and with Caitlin, her alter ego basically comes with her own personality. Sure, Harry can be a serious force if his intelligence doesn’t corrupt … but you know that famous quote from Spider-Man about great power. It takes a special person to be able to handle it.
