Big Little Lies season 2 adds The Alienist actor for new role
According to a report coming in now via Deadline, The Alienist actor Douglas Smith has been booked for a role on the drama playing the part of Corey Brockfield. He is described as an “off-beat surfer, aspiring marine biologist” and also someone who works alongside Shailene Woodley and her character of Jane.
Hopefully, this character proves himself to be an interesting addition to the show and someone who Jane can actually go to when she needs a different voice — we do also think that it is important to keep adding fresh faces to a series that, by and large, seems to be keeping a great number of the same cast members from the first season. Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Adam Scott, Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz, and many others are all going to be returning for the latest batch of episodes. The most notable new casting remains Meryl Streep as Perry’s mother. Filming is currently underway and while there is no firm premiere date at present for Big Little Lies season 2, all signs ultimately point towards a launch next year — maybe it could be done by later this year if HBO really wants to rush things along, but do they really want to do that? Doing another season of a show originally billed as a limited series already is a tricky enough endeavor in its own right.
