The Durrells season 3 episode 3 preview: A funeral; a journey

Are you excited to see The Durrells season 3 episode 3 on ITV next week? All signs right now point towards this being a difficult episode for many characters, largely because of the notion of saying goodbye. Hermoine’s will and a funeral are going to be central facets of the overall story, which is why in turn there are going to be some emotion — plus a journey to a place in London you don’t often see on this show. Don’t worry, though, as Corfu is still going to remain an important part of the story — in the process of that, Leslie is going to be forced to grow up. He could end up having to do that rather quickly and we hope that he’s capable of it, especially in the midst of what he just went through earlier this season when it comes to trying to find the right women for him.

Below, The Durrells season 3 episode wynopsis offers up some additional details when it comes to what we can expect to see:

After arriving in Bournemouth at Aunt Hermione’s house, Larry quickly sets off to visit friends in London. Louisa is left with her cousins Prue, Geoffrey and Basil who arrive to settle details of Hermione’s will and attend the funeral. In London, Larry is greeted at his friend Durant’s house by a group of like-minded artists – Henry Miller, Jonquil and Ruby – and begins to embrace their modern, bohemian lifestyle. Back in Corfu, Leslie takes charge of the household and is offered a job as a local policeman, whilst Spiros forbids Margo from seeing Zoltan in Louisa’s absence and Gerry saves a donkey from an abusive farmer.

Hopefully be the end of this episode there will be a sense of healing; beyond that, we also imagine that there is going to be a real chance to have a little bit of fun again. (We’re also going to be rooting hard for Gerry saving this donkey — there’s nothing that we hate more than people who are abusive to animals, even within a fictional setting.)
