Blue Bloods season 8 episode 17 video: Is Frank’s old partner a criminal?

Blue Bloods season 8

As we start to look towards Blue Bloods season 8 episode 17 airing on CBS come Friday night, there are many questions worth wondering. At the moment, one of the biggest ones revolves in part around Frank Reagan and his old partner in Lenny.

Is this man, played by Treat Williams, guilty of a pretty heinous crime? Basically, the man shot two different people according to Frank, and one of the big stories at the heart of this episode is going to be Frank seeing if his daughter Erin can do him a favor. As for why he would want her to help someone considered to be more or less a criminal, there is a pretty simple reason for that: It’s possible that Lenny ended up shooting people without understanding what he was doing, in self-defense, or some other altered state. Things within Blue Bloods are often complicated and aren’t anywhere near black-and-white.

We see some of the specific complications here as twofold.

1. Frank not really seeing the forest for the trees, and being biased towards his old friend may be causing him to look at the situation in a reasonably unfair light.

2. Erin potentially having her hands tied within this situation; as a result of that, she may not be able to do all that much in order to help even if she really wanted to.

Ultimately, this could be a great episode if you love Tom Selleck just because it gives him some potentially different material to take on. After all, there are really not too many opportunities to see Frank where he isn’t quite thinking clearly when it comes to a case.

Outside of Frank, rest assured that there is some great Jamie/Eddie storytelling in this episode as they also take on a case with its own unique set of complications.
