TV Madness 2018: Hawaii Five-0, Absentia square off in round 3

Welcome to another edition of our third annual TV Madness Tournament! This is a fun annual tradition here at CarterMatt where we have some fun, engaging battles between various shows looking to make it all the way to the final round on March 28.

Above, you can see our full bracket, complete with entries, their seeds, and start/end dates. Once you are within the bracket, the dates listed are when the previous poll ends and the next one begins! We’ve got a great group of shows taking part this year, with some newbies as well as others who have been a part of the tournament every single year. The voting rules are pretty simple — you can vote however often you would like on however many devices that you would like! If you are on mobile and you are having a problem seeing the poll at the bottom of the article for whatever reason, be sure to click to view the non-AMP version of the page at the bottom of the article.

For this edition of TV Madness, we’ve got a round three showdown that may be one of the most interesting and competitive yet. We’ve got a #1 seed in Hawaii Five-0 entering the fray after what was a pretty intense battle to get it to this point opposite Lucifer. Its competition may be even more formidable this year — Absentia, a show that has proven two times over that it is an underdog story worth believing in. One of them will make the final four, but it’s entirely up to you in order to determine who that will be.

Now that we’ve set the stage, let’s get to breaking down these entries further. Voting for this round remains open until Monday, March 26 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time.

Hawaii Five-0 (#1 seed) – The power of Hawaii Five-0 stems for the most part from the show’s super devoted fan following and also overall sense of fun. This is a show with extremely memorable characters and, to go along with that, some really high octane situations and beautiful scenery. It’s just a show that makes you smile and takes you away from your everyday life. There is something very charming about that and this is one of the main reasons why the show has as much appeal as it does.

Absentia (#7 seed) – Entering the tournament this year we knew that the Stana Katic-led series, which is airing on Amazon here in the United States, had an enormous support base. Its results so far in the tournament speak for themselves. It’s taken out one popular network show in NCIS in the first round and then Law & Order: SVU in the next. If Absentia can pull this victory off and enter the final four, it will be one of TV Madness’ best Cinderella stories ever. It’s got more competition than ever this year, though!
