Chicago PD season 5 episode 18 sneak peek: Upton prepares to go undercover

Chicago PD season 5 episode 18 is entitled “Ghosts,” and based on the sneak peek below there does appear to be a pretty good reason for that. Hailey Upton is bringing back a ghost from her past in the form of an old undercover alias; with that in mind, she is also going to be looking to get justice for a death that happened many years ago.

In the sneak peek that CarterMatt has for you below, you can get a good sense as to the origination of this case, including some of what Upton did way back when and why her cover is technically still alive and relevant within the criminal world. At the time in which she last assumed the identity, the perception was that she took off to Iowa. Now, she can come back and potential run in this circle again in order to catch the leader of a drug ring.

Here is where things get dangerous: Voight instructs her to focus only on the case at hand, and don’t worry about trying to resolve a case from the past. Do you really think that Hailey is going to be okay with that? This could feel like she is doing half the job and not being able to complete all the work that she set out to do. Yet, at the same time she runs the risk of putting her identity in danger the longer that she stays in that world. She’s going to have to work on balancing all of this out and that could mean relying on people close to her in PD. Could Jay Halstead be a part of that? It seems like a pretty good possibility.

Expect a great performance from Tracy Spiridakos within this episode, and to go along with that be prepared to get yet another great example of Upton’s resolve. She is going to be willing to do just about everything that she can in order to get the job done and we’re absolutely excited to see a little bit more of what that looks like.
