The Blacklist season 5 episode 18 spoilers: Liz, Reddington’s trust issues escalate

How do you deal with a problem like Ian Garvey? This is something that The Blacklist season 5 episode 18 is going to be taking on in a pretty big way when it airs on April 11.

The first thing to note here is simply this: Trust issues are running rampant when it comes to Ian Garvey, and for good reason. There is a divergence of opinions when it comes to precisely how this character should be dealt with. For Liz, it’s clear that she is driven by revenge and a need for answers about Reddington’s secret. Yet, at the same time we also know that Reddington is intent on keeping his secrets hidden and Ian Garvey is the key to some of them getting out. She wants answers, and he prefers silence. This is why things are going to become chaotic as this season goes along and the apparent father-daughter team from earlier this season is starting to fall apart. We already know that the contents of the suitcase are such that they could completely destroy Reddington’s relationship with Liz for good, but we have to wonder if the way he’s handling it might not pull them apart for good in a different way?

04/11/2018 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Wednesday) : In an attempt to apply pressure to Ian Garvey (guest star Jonny Coyne), Red (James Spader) and the Task Force head to Paris to track down a prominent heroin supplier for the Nash Syndicate. Distrustful of Red’s agenda, Liz (Megan Boone) takes her own path in going after Garvey.

By the end of this episode the hope is that we will see just what Liz and Reddington’s own long-term plans are when it comes to Garvey and we’ll probably see in some ways a race against time to see who captures him first … provided that they are in a spot where they are able to. The title for this episode is “Zarak Mosadek,” which is fairly innocuous other than just the fact that this is likely another Blacklister who surfaces within this episode.
