Could Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, or another CW superhero show air on Sundays?
With that said, there is another interesting question to raise: What shows does The CW want to move here? It’s possible that the network goes with a lineup of new shows to try and launch the night, but at the same time there’s an argument to be made to move something established there in order to properly launch the night in an exciting way — given that some of the network’s biggest shows are all superhero by nature, we thought it could be interesting to examine what is coming up through that particular lens.
Below, we’ve got an assessment on some of the network’s comic-book shows alongside what we think the odds are of them airing on the night.
The Flash – It’s not moving. This is consistently one of the network’s most successful shows and it works really well where it is.
Black Lightning – Given that it has fared so well leading out of The Flash on Tuesdays, we wouldn’t be shocked if The CW decided to just keep it precisely where it is for the fall / whenever a possible season 2 returns.
Supergirl – There’s a chance here that it could be moved. It hasn’t done tremendously on Monday nights this season and we do think airing opposite another comic-book show in Lucifer hurts it. Yet, it’s also established on Mondays and trying to shift that could prove confusing to some.
Arrow – The ratings are down from what they used to be, but we do still think of Arrow as a tentpole … one that is probably not going to be moved.
Legends of Tomorrow – We do think that there is a reasonably good shot at seeing this show find a way to go to Sundays — and it could actually benefit it! After all, it’s a chance for it to finally have a stable timeslot that is uniquely its own!
