The Flash season 4: Could Barry, Iris have a baby in near future?
Based on where the story is right now, it is understandable that these questions would start to be raised. After all, the two parties did recently get married, and beyond that there is also the mystery girl floating around Central City at the moment. She has not revealed herself as to her true identity, but also suggestions at the moment seem to lean towards her being Dawn Allen. With that in mind, there is also something fun about the possibility of the show trying to remix this and do something a little bit different and surprising. So what does Candice Patton have to say on the subject? Speaking in a new interview with TV Guide, the actress says the following when it comes to Barry and Iris being parents in the future:
“I mean, no one wants to see pregnant Iris … but yeah, I think the next step, I guess, would be eventually to see Barry and Iris have a kid. I don’t know when that could possibly happen with what they’re trying to do.”
If we were to guess and have our say on the subject, we would say that this is a story best suited for a season 6 of The Flash as opposed to where the series is right now. There is no hurry to make Barry and Iris become parents. It does feel like the perfect evolution of these characters, but they are still very young and they have a lot of growing to do. When you think about it, Barry has only been a Speedster for a few years, and that is the sort of thing that would take a long period of time to get used to. It is a dramatic life change, and given the sort of chaotic life that Barry and Iris Lee, it makes some sense for them to spend a little bit of time getting adjusted to what their life is and their new normal before bringing someone else into the fold.
With that being said, who knows? Maybe the arrival of Dawn Allen or whoever this woman is is going to serve as a means to get the two closer to becoming parents than you would expect.
